Book Recommendations Needed
I'm all about challenging myself lately: spend less, clean more, cook more, dress my age; just a lot of little challenges aimed at tweaking certain aspects in my life in hopes of making myself a happier person. One of the challenges, which I've seen undertaken by other bloggers, is the 52 books in 52 weeks. So far I've only read three books: The Hunger Games trilogy (great books and very empowering) so I'm a little behind. I have Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen and Bad Mother by Ayelet Waldman as my next two reads and I love reading anything that's good.

Stephanie, I really did laugh out loud when I read this post. I am just finishing up Mockingjay (LOVE the Hunger Games series!!) and I just purchased Water for Elephants last week to read next.
What kind of books are you interested in? I belong to two book groups so I have a ton of recommendations. I would start with The Help, Life Of Pi, Bel Canto, Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, The Road and The Other Boleyn Girl to name a few. Secret Life Of Bees was also lovely. Pride And Prejudice, of course. Fingersmith was cool. Memoirs Of A Geisha was good, too.
I have lots more in case there are other genres that you prefer. The above recommendations are mostly from lists popular with book clubs.
Oh, also anything by Isabel Allende, David Lodge or Nick Hornby.
Good choices so far! I loved both Hunger Games and Water for Elephants. Have you read The Help? It's an amazing book about strong women...I think I have a review of it on my blog. Another good one is Moloka'i (Historical fiction), and Glass Castle (memoir) are really good too.
I LOVE to read. I'd recommend The Art of Racing in the Rain if you haven't read it. Amazing book. The Help and The Weight of Silence are two other good fiction reads, and if you like young adult books, The Vampire Diaries is my favorite series EVER. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater is also a part of a series, the second book is called Linger, the third comes out in July (I just recently read the 1st two). Hope this helps! :)
Water for Elephants is amazing. I just started The Art of Racing in the Rain and am really enjoying it so far.
Yes The Secret Life of Bees was good like someone mentioned earlier, and I want to read The Help. The Glass Castle was also good. Hard to get into at first for me but I loved it in the end. I also like The Joy Luck Club (old, I know), The Lovely Bones, My Sister's Keeper, The Color Purple, and The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes. I have sooooo many books on my bookshelf that I need to read. I'm gonna enjoy seeing what you read and your reviews!
