Anyone who spends 10 minutes talking to me will quickly realize that I miss Miami...A LOT. Living in Boston is fun, but living up here has really brought out my Miami pride. When I first moved to Boston I was tired of Miami living and I was ready for a change. After 3 years of living up here, I am over Boston (sorry Boston lovers). I won't get into specifics, but just know that as each day passes I miss Miami more. I miss the culture, the atmosphere, and, most importantly, the people. Going to Miami is always bittersweet for me. I am happy to finally be somewhere that feels like home but I am sad when I have to leave and have to return to a place that feels so distant and lonely. This past weekend only increased my desire to be back in Miami and here are a few of the reasons why:
1. My Husband. He did a rotation at one of the hospitals there and because of the ridiculous costs of flights will be there until January. He's been there since October 17 and being in Boston isn't the same without him.
2. My Dog. I left her in Miami this past weekend because the airlines have made it financially impossible to travel with a pet (one-way price is between $100 and $150 for her) and to get the most of what we are paying, it's best that she stay there until January as well.
3. My Family. I hate being up here and feeling like I am missing out on seeing my baby brother grow up (we have a 15 year difference). Plus, there is nothing like mom's cooking to make a bad day good.
4. Alex's Family. They are such an incredible family; so open, giving, and supportive. My in-laws are amazing and I wish everyone could have them as in-laws.
5. Girl Alex. At her wedding I said I would have married her 5 years ago if I were a man. She is truly a phenomenal person and a great friend.
6. The Girls. We all met or found each other again during a special time in our lives and I love that we get to see each other go through new and exciting life changes. I just wish I was in Miami to celebrate these changes with them. (We missed you Lauren!)
7. The Food. I love Cuban food, but the real treat is eating Colombian food. I used to eat it all the time in Miami but rarely eat it when we go down because of time constraints. My mom was nice enough to have breakfast with us on Saturday and she hooked it up big time with arepas, empanadas, and other Colombian goodies.
8. The Palm Trees. I am not kidding. I love these trees and I miss seeing them on a daily basis.
9. The Beach. There's nothing like going to the beach in December.
10. The Weather. Yes, it can get ridiculously hot in Miami, but I don't have to worry about my skin getting irritated with a heater or having to wear a million layers just to stay warm.
11. Disney. I know it's not in Miami but I miss being able to drive there. We used to go to Disney at least 3 times a year.

Miami Florida Weddings are romantic on the beach. Have you seen any in the area ?
