Blake Bakes & Cherrybrook Kitchen

A couple of months ago there was a giveaway on Blake Bakes for Cherrybrook Kitchen's allergy-free chocolate cake and frosting. I entered because I was extremely curious about trying something that was peanut, egg, and dairy free. I was excited to receive my box of goodies in the mail recently, especially since I was not expecting it (studying for my exams has made me a hermit). This was the easiest cake to make since all you have to do is add water and oil. At first I was a little apprehensive because the batter didn't taste good to me. I think it's because it's a very light batter, but after scraping the bowl a second time, I had to stop myself from swallowing the bowl. The best part was that I didn't have the usual batter-eating guilt of "what if I get sick because of the eggs in the batter?" I made mini cupcakes and ate 3 of them a minute after frosting them. I reasoned that if they are allergy-free they have to be healthy or at least that's the excuse I came up with to get over the "I can't believe I ate so many" guilt. I must add that the frosting is incredible. It tastes like fudge....sooo good!

If you have a Whole Foods by you I definitely recommend picking up a box of Cherrybrook's cake mix and giving them a try. They are a great alternative, especially if you bake for someone with allergies. Thanks Blake Bakes for introducing me to Cherrybrook Kitchen!
