TWD: Buttery Jam Cookies

Heather of Randomosity and the Girl chose Dorie's Buttery Jam Cookies this week for TWD. I'm always excited to try a new cookie so I was pumped to try this cookie, especially since this wasn't a recipe I'd normally try. While the cookie was buttery, I was disappointed that I couldn't taste the jam more (I used strawberry). I don't know what I was expecting, but I guess I was expecting more jam flavoring. The cookie was good, but not my type of cookie. I think this cookie is perfect for someone like my mother in-law; I can picture her eating this cookie with her morning coffee.

Thanks to Heather for this week's pick. Don't forget to head over to her blog for the recipe and to the TWD site to see what everyone else thought of this cookie.

I think it's a perfect breakfast cookie, actually. Not too sweet, but I think it would be good with jam on top too.

I agree, totally a coffee or tea-time cookie. Just a bit too boring and stuffy, as far as cookies go.

I couldn't agree with you more. These cookies were NOT fun!!! I need more sweetness! They look great though.

They weren't my favorite either, needed perhaps like you say, a bit more "humpf"... nevertheless, your cookies are pretty darn good looking, Stephanie!

Your pictures are lovely! We used black raspberry; I could taste a hint of the jam and the cookies were purple.

I was a little disappointed as well. Maybe we're all a little bit cookied out...

At least you got some nice photos out of it. Your cookies look deliciously dunkable.

These look great...sorry they weren't your favorite. Some people added extra jam or put some on top - perhaps that would jam it up! :)
