I did something wrong. I think I messed this recipe up on a few levels but the biggest mistake was (I think) mixing in the milk mixture too much. My batter was very brownie-like and the cakes were dry. To make up for this slip up and disappointment I served my shortcakes with Neapolitan ice cream and chocolate syrup.
