Have you heard of Project Nursery? I practically stalk their blog. Let's not even get started on how I often I went to Project Nursery when I was pregnant. You see, Project Nursery is a site dedicated to nursery design, cool kid finds, and DIY projects. They even have inspiration boards and tips from experts. I especially love the Real Parties posts; I am in constant awe of all creativity and originality of some of these parties. Project Nursery is literally like having your very own kid-friendly designer with an eye capable of seeing potential even in a spat up onesie. These are some of my favorite posts:

*I love this Pretty in Pink party (love the tutu!).
*These Mother's Day designs are gorgeous.
*Have you seen this super cool crib?
*I can't wait to throw Cati a cupcake themed party.
*Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday so I look forward to throwing a kids-only dinner.
*The beginning of my love affair with chalkboard walls.
*Can I just say wow? Extravagant really is the perfect word to describe this room.
*I love the vintage feel of this room (this room made me really hope for a girl when I was pregnant!).

I could go on and on but I have to stop because there's something more exciting going on in this post other than my obsession with Project Nursery. Today we get to hear from one of the masterminds behind Project Nursery: Melisa Fluhr!!! Squeal! Scream! Jump for excitement! If I didn't talk so darn much, I might actually be speechless! Me? Total fan. I mean, come on. The woman is a mother and a creative genius. On most days I can't even remember what I did with the keys I'm holding in my hands.

Here are her answers:

1. One ugly truth about motherhood. Your body will never be the same. You will talk to your girlfriends about stretch marks, c-section scars and how breastmilk is the cure all. Nothing is sacred anymore.

2. What does motherhood mean to you?A chance to giveback and my opportunity to raise wonderful, compassionate and contributing human beings.

3. How has motherhood empowered you? I have gained a new sense of confidence where I know I can do anything I put my mind too. My multi-tasking and efficiency skill have never been stronger.

Thanks Melisa for participating! You're a star and it's an honor even having your words on my blog. This post is exactly why motherhood is great: it can connect us to one another in ways that we may never have connected to before.

Project Empowering Motherhood is an ongoing series in celebration and honor of Cati's 6 months. For my responses to the questions and more about the series, go HERE. For Jenn's answers, go HERE. If you are interested in participating and being featured on the blog send your answers to the three questions to steppystar@aol.com.
